FAQ

اسئلة

Q: Where can I buy Palestine Heirloom Seed Library seeds?
A: Oh awesome, you want some of our seeds?! You can buy our seeds direct from us if you come visit the Seed Library in Battir, or you can buy online at these great places:

Q: When/how can I visit the Palestine Heirloom Seed Library and see the work you are doing?
A: We love visitors… in fact, the more the merrier! Just be aware that we are often out working on projects or in the field, so you’ll need to make an appointment first to ensure someone is available to host your visit. You can send us a message with the time and date of your proposed visit and we’ll try to make it work… and we hope you understand if we are unable to accommodate your request.

Q: Where exactly is the Seed Library located we hear you ask?
A: We are on the top floor of the Dar Abu Hassan Guest House in the Palestinian village of Battir. You can find a map of our location here.

Q: Can I book accommodation and stay at the Palestine Heirloom Seed Library?
A: Luckily for you, the Seed Library shares a building with the Abu Hassan Guest House where you’ll be very welcome to stay. Just get in touch with the lovely team there, let them know that you are coming to visit us and they’ll book you in! You can check out more about the Guest House here.

Q: Can I do an internship/volunteer with Vivien and/or the Palestine Heirloom Seed Library?
A: We feel honoured that you want to help work on our projects and learn from Vivien! We get many such requests every week and occasionally we’ll have someone volunteering with us from time to time, but unfortunately, we just aren’t able to accept most applications. This is because we feel that volunteers and interns deserve to have proper support and mentorship, and be engaged in interesting work… not just be put to mundane tasks and left alone in a corner. And so we make sure we only take on people if we have the capacity to help everyone under our care. With that in mind, please do still reach out to us, but we hope you understand if we are unable to accommodate your request.

Q: I’m a PhD student/researcher and wanted to interview Vivien regarding her work?
A: Each week we get a number of requests from seekers of knowledge who want to pick Vivien’s brain on a range of interesting topics. We love to hear from you but unfortunately between all the work in the field and other obligations, we just don’t have the physical time to sit down with everyone and answer all their questions. With that in mind, please do still reach out to us, but we hope you understand if we are unable to accommodate your request.

Q: I’m a journalist/podcaster/photographer/documentary-maker and want to interview Vivien for a piece I’m doing. Is she available?
A: We love to spread the word about the important work that Vivien is doing at the Palestine Heirloom Seed Library and through her other projects. If you feel that you are able to showcase Vivien’s work and her voice in an authentic and compassionate way, then please do get in touch with us.

Q: Does Vivien offer tours or host dinners?
A: Yes she does and you’re in for a treat! Whether you’re after a food tour through the secret winding lanes of the souk, an authentic sit-down meal with a family in a rustic farm kitchen or a foraging adventure out in the natural beauty of Palestine, Viven has the expertise to put together an experience you won’t soon forget. Just send us a message about what you’re looking for and we’ll work towards pulling together a memorable event for you.

Q: Can I book Vivien to speak at my upcoming event?
A: Vivien loves to spread the word, both virtually and in person around the world, about the important work being undertaken at the Palestine Heirloom Seed Library and at her other projects. If you’d like to inquire about booking Vivien please email us at arts.and.seeds@gmail.com and we’ll work with you to make it happen.

Q: Does Vivien charge a fee to speak at my event?
A: While Vivien would love to speak at every event for free, we’re sure you understand the realities of running multiple professional projects that require funding, time and energy. Therefore a fee is involved with booking Vivien, the amount of which is determined by a number of factors (i.e. the type of event, funding levels, and level of the commitment required from Vivien). But do reach out to us and we’ll try to make it work!

Q: How can I keep up to date on what Vivien is doing with the Palestine Heirloom Seed Library and her other projects?

To receive this you can subscribe HERE and we’ll add you to our database (and we promise not to spam!).Vivien is also on several social media channels, where she shares photos of projects, titbits and interesting stories.
